KCE’s staff of professional engineers and professional geologist provides our clients with a wide array of environmental engineering services, built on powerful geotechnical, hydrogeological and environmental expertise. Furthermore, the varied environmental credentials and experience of our staff, combined with KCE’s very close working relationship with the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) and local county conservation districts, enables us to successfully manage the various approval processes for our clients. The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (PADEP) promotes special safeguards for our natural resources in the Commonwealth. To assist our clients in their need to optimize land use planning and sustainable development, Keystone Consulting Engineers (KCE) works collaboratively with the PADEP staff, thereby facilitating timely permitting of projects. KCE designs and executes the cost-effective site investigations that are required to support applications for land development permits. Quite unique to an engineering firm and a very effective resource to our clients is our ‘in-house’ geologist with expertise in the fields of Karst hazards, groundwater modeling, storm water infiltration, soil science, geology, geotechnical engineering, hydrogeology, and environmental science.

PRACTICE AREAS

The following are some of the soil service activities for which KCE provides inspection services to its private and municipal clients:

• Soil Science – Soils mapping, percolation tests, on-lot septic system design, stormwater infiltration testing, and erosion and sediment control plan preparation.
• Hydrogeology – Fracture Trace Studies, aquifer testing, wellhead protection, DRBC withdrawal permits, Public Water Supply permits, and monitoring well drilling and testing.
• Engineering Geology – karst hazard mapping, sinkhole mitigation, geo- physical surveys, and geotechnical testing.
• Environmental Science – Phase I & II Environmental Site Assessments, Brownfields Redevelopment, Soil and Groundwater Sampling/Testing.
